Following up my post on pardalotes, there is, in The Art of the First Fleet by Lisa di Tommaso (Natural History Museum, London, 2012), a painting of the Spotted Pardalote (Pardalotus punctatus). It was part of a collection sent back to a Britain eager to know what Australia and its fauna and flora were like from those who went ashore on 26 January 1788 at Port Jackson to set up the first penal colony in New South Wales.
